*Destiny Discover: 
Students can login at https://my.clayton.k12.ga.us and click Destiny to open the school media center catalog. Reading materials available may include: eBooks, interactive books, and encyclopedia articles. A Destiny Discover Collection called Clayton READS: At Home has been made public to district Destiny catalogs. This Collection contains links and descriptions of the resources available to support independent reading and research. As new resources are identified, they will be added to this Collection. All Destiny patrons can view this collection by clicking the Destiny icon in the My CCPS Portal. Once in Destiny Discover, search the word clayton, then click the Collections link at the top of the page. Look for Clayton READS: At Home.
If you have trouble getting to Destiny Discover through the CCPS portal, use this direct link. Once in Destiny Discover, search for Elite Scholars Academy for our media collection. Link: https://search.follettsoftware.com/metasearch/ui/26168/

*Gale Databases and Resources
: Gale is providing free access to selected resources to help support librarians, teachers, and students while teaching and learning from home. These resources include: Miss Humblebee’s Academy, Kids InfoBits, Gale In Context Middle School, and Gale In Context High School. These resources have been added to the Clayton READS: At Home Collection in Destiny Discover.

*Open Ebooks App: All students have access to a free open ebooks app. Students can download the app, enter a code and pin, and are able to download ebooks for free. Visit http://openebooks.net/getstarted.html for more information.  During this district closure, you can ask for an access code by e-mailing your child’s name, grade level, and school name to claytonreads@clayton.k12.ga.us

*Tumblebook Library 
(Must have Public Library Card)
The Clayton County Public Library provides access to TumbleBook Library, a collection of hundreds of ebooks including animated picture books, read-along chapter books, videos, and more. Go to claytonpl.org/kids to begin reading.

*E-Read Kids (Must have Public Library Card)
The Clayton County Public Library provides access to E-Read Kids, a collection of thousands of ebooks and audio titles. A library card number is required to access the collection. Go to claytonpl.org/kids to begin reading.

*MyOn Digital Library
Thanks to our partners at Renaissance, free access to the myON digital library is now open as part of Get Georgia Reading. Unlimited, free access to more than 6,400 digital books will be provided until school closures end. Students can read online using any internet-enabled device. Quizzing is not available with this shared login, but students with Accelerated Reader access can login to AR to take quizzes on books read in MyOn.

 Click the Sign In button and start reading!

*Galileo (Access through my.clayton.k12.ga.us)  Current password: elder

In the My CCPS Portal, click the Galileo link to access Galileo: Georgia’s Virtual Library. If you are prompted for a password, the current password is aboard . When searching Galileo’s many resources, be sure to use the filters found on the left side of the results page to narrow your search: check the Full Text box to ensure your results include only complete articles; change the Publication Date to a range such as 2018 to 2020 to ensure the articles shown are recent. Two of the main sources found include: Periodical = a magazine article aimed at the general public often written by a professional writer; Academic Journal = a scholarly article aimed at specialists, academics, and researchers often written by an expert on the subject.

*Accelerated Reader (Available with home access while school is closed)
Accelerated Reader quizzes allow a student to show understanding of a book he or she has read. Parents and students are encouraged to follow these best practices when a student reads and takes an Accelerated Reader quiz:
-Select a book of interest to read.
-Read a few pages to be sure you can successfully read the book.
-Finish reading the entire book.
-Take the Accelerated Reader quiz within one day of finishing a book.
-Go to http://tinyurl.com/claytonar to login to Accelerated Reader. The username is the student ID number without the first zero. Each student should know his or her password.
-Do not use the book during the quiz.

*Clayton State University K-12 Reading Program

The Clayton State University K-12 Reading Program has opened early, has reduced rates, and converted all classes to a live online format, to help parents and schools maintain student education during these unusual times. Our live, teacher-led online classes are available now and throughout the summer, for Pre-K through 12th grade students. The curriculum is high caliber and has been taught in a live, online format for 5 years already with over 50,000 school-age students. The classes are led by highly-trained teachers with many years experience, teaching effectively in online classrooms.
